You’ll be surprised by the rich history of Värmland, where people have lived in harmony with nature for generations. You’ll see this reflected in the unique building styles of houses and the old lumberjack huts along the route — watch your head when entering these small huts!
Along the lake, you’ll see colorful boathouses, crane footprints in the sand, beautifully shaped driftwood, and a sandy beach that could easily be mistaken for the Mediterranean. Walk through the marsh to the lookout tower, browse the guestbook, and spot birds and land animals.
During the ride on forest paths, you’ll enjoy various shades of green, colorful orchids, and lupines. You might even see moose, roe deer, cranes, or the striking male capercaillie with his beautiful feathers.
Practical info: we depart and end at our location near Höljes. The tour lasts 5 to 6 hours, with a maximum of six people per tour. We stop at the most beautiful spots, and lunch is included.
Only one booking per tour, so you always travel privately with your own group. The price is SEK 4,000 (approx. €350).

“What a lovely sight to see such a small cabin in the middle of nature. So tiny that it is hard to believe that they used to live and sleep there with 10 people at a time. A little further down we arrive at a lake. The beach where we enjoy a beverage can be put in a tropical island commercial. You would not expect that here!”
You will be amazed of Värmlands rich history: man lived here in harmony with nature for many generations. You can not only see that in the way the houses are built, but also in the way people made their living. During the trip we will see many examples of this, such as the tiny log cabins, where the lumberjacks used to sleep and live. Mind your head when entering such a tiny cabin!

Go on a hike through the swamp to the bird watching tower. Look at the guestbook to discover all the species that have been spotted there, and see if you can find some yourself!
Driving on the forest roads, you will be amazed of all the colours of green the forest has to offer. But how do you feel about all the colours of the orchids and lupine? Who knows what forest inhabitants we will encounter as well. Moose, deer, but also wild boar walks around without a care in the world. On sunny days you can even be surprised by the capercailye male with its wonderful feathers or the female with her offspring…
Here is some practical info: the tour starts and ends at our location in Höljes.
The trip takes about five to six hours, and we have room for a maximum of 6 persons. Of course, we will stop at the sights and a catered lunch is included in the price.
We only book one group per trip, so you will always be traveling with your own company / family. The price is SEK 4.000 (appr. Euro 350) per tour. During booking we would like to hear whether there are special requests with regards to food or drink, or that there are other circumstances that we need to take into account.
